The People vs. Capitalism

These photos were taken on May 1, 2023 at the May Day march in downtown Los Angeles. We walked with members of tenants unions, colectivos, and @KeepLAHoused to speak out for our right to safe and comfortable housing. We walked with nearly 1,000 comrades and chanted in Spanish: “Tener un techo es un derecho” and “De norte al sur/ de este al oeste/ ganaremos esta lucha/ cueste lo que cueste“. We then gathered and danced with union members and people from all over the Los Angeles area.

Tina Trutanich is a queer communist worker and poet from Spain and California. They write about food, nature, revolution, love, and liberation.
